I think this is a very interesting story, I enjoyed reading it. The thing I like most about it is the ambiguity, you don't spend any time setting up the world through direct exposition. You sprinkle in little details that make the audience question what is going on, or what occurred before. I also love the imagery you used in this story. Simple, yet incredibly evocative and insightful. Very good stuff, the imagery was my favorite part.
